Documenting my home

As part of my senior exercise in Studio Art, I’m making a series of stop motion music videos. One of the videos is set in my childhood home in Marblehead, MA. This place has been passed down through four generations of Fallons, and holds a lot of emotional significance to my family and me.

When I start thinking about which rooms and areas I want to include in my video, it’s hard to know where to start. I gravitate mostly towards the shapes created by sunlight falling through slivers of window. The experience of feeling comfortable in the house is what I want to convey. Not a documentary with strictly composed shots. So starting with little details like light feels like a good way to put the viewer in a home-like place.
